Votes will be tallied tonight as today is the General Election and you can hear local results on KCII Radio. Polls are open in Iowa from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and voters are reminded to take photo identification with them to cast their ballot. To find your polling place click here.

Over 7,000 people have requested absentee ballots in Washington County either by mail or by voting early in person.

There is one contested race at the county-level for Washington County and that is the Board of Supervisors District 4 seat. The position is currently held by Republican Stan Stoops who is seeking re-election, he is opposed by Democrat Lorraine Williams.

Residents of Washington County will also have a say in state-level races. House District 78 covers all of Keokuk County and most of Washington County with Republican incumbent Jarad Klein seeking re-election and he is challenged by Democrat Kimberly Davis.

The residents of the Brighton, Marion, and Crawfordsville Townships will weigh in on the House District 84 and Senate District 42 contests. Republican Joe Mitchell is seeking re-election for House District 84 and he is opposed by Democrat Jeff Fager. For Senate District 42, Democrat Rich Taylor is running for re-election against Republican Jeff Reichman.
