A motorcyclist hit a deer near Riverside early Sunday morning. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 12:27 a.m. a person on a motorcycle called emergency officials saying they’d hit a deer near the intersection of Highway 218 and 160th Street. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies, Riverside Fire Department, Riverside QRS, and Washington County Ambulance responded to the scene. One person was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital. The name of the driver was not released.
