After a run to team and individual gold in Fort Dodge for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks, the coaching staff is also taking home some hardware. Mid-Prairie head girls cross country coach Mark Hostetler has been named a Girls At-Large Coach of the Year in Class 2A by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches. Hostetler coached the Golden Hawk girls program to its fourth consecutive class 2A team state championship in 2020. His daughter, freshman Danielle also captured Mid-Prairie’s fifth straight individual state championship in class 2A, following sisters Anna and Marie Hostetler. This year’s title makes six in Hostetler’s coaching career. He guided the Golden Hawk boys to a team championship in 2016 and IMS to a boys title in 1995. This is the third time at Mid-Prairie he has been named Coach of the Year.
