Southeast Iowa organizations are reacting to the latest surge of coronavirus positive cases. The City of Riverside is restricting access to city hall. A notification on the city website says that due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, public use of the Riverboat Room and council chambers has been suspended. Those who have made reservations to use the facility are asked to contact the city clerk. The message also indicates Riverside city hall is open for business at the front counter.
And, the Wellman-Scofield Library website is informing patrons the library will resume working by appointment only due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the community.
As of Wednesday, Washington County’s 14-day positivity rate for COVID-19 cases was 16.1% with 44 new cases added on Wednesday alone.
