A man wanted on warrants out of Washington and Muscatine counties was arrested in Iowa City early Thursday morning. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 1:31 a.m. authorities arrested 39-year-old Jason Michael Stoneking of Columbus Junction. He was wanted out of Muscatine County for a controlled substance violation, failure to affix a drug stamp, possession of marijuana second offense, and possession of contraband in a correctional institution. Bond was set at $5,000 cash only.
He was wanted out of Washington County for pretrial supervision revoked on the original charge of a controlled substance violation. Bond was set at $9,000. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
He was previously arrested in Washington on February 5th for pretrial release violation and on October 18, 2019 in Wapello. The original charges stem from an incident on January 22nd, 2019, when Stoneking was arrested for driving under suspension and controlled substance violation, a Class B felony.
