The 8-player district 4 released its all district football teams and seven Lone Tree athletes received postseason recognition.
Four players headlined the selections being named to the first team in running back Alex Viner, offensive lineman Will Hotz, defensive back Cade Patterson, and quarterback Cade Shield as a utility player.
Viner had a big senior campaign on the ground with 860 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns that ranked fifth in the league. He also hauled in 25 passes for 311 yards and two scores. Hotz anchored an offensive line that paved the way for 1,520 rushing yards and his 71 tackles on the other side was second in the district. Patterson was a ball hawk collecting five interceptions on the season and was a main target with 37 receptions for 511 yards and seven scores. Shield completed 51% of his throws for 977 yards and 10 touchdowns while also recording 40 tackles defensively.
Tyler Bell was the lone Lion chosen to the second team as a utility player. The junior had 112 receiving yards and reached the end zone once while also having 28 tackles. Levi Sotzen and Caden Smith were named honorable mention. Sotzen managed 117 yards on the ground reaching pay dirt twice and Smith led the team with 8.5 tackles for loss.
Lone Tree finished the campaign with a 4-4 record.
