The Sigourney-Keota Cobra football team is on their way back to the dome for the first time in 15 years and the two communities are sending the Snakes off in style. It is SK Cobra Day at both Sigourney and Keota Schools on Friday. The players will take part in a walking and waving parade at Keota schools just before three Friday afternoon while the Sigourney district still has rally towels on sale in the office for fans to take with them to Cedar Falls. Saturday morning is the official send off at 8a.m. The team bus will leave Sigourney High School and wind its way through town west down Pleasant Valley Street, north on Main Street, west on Jackson Street/Highway 92 and north out of town toward the Sigourney Golf Club. The No. 3 ranked Cobras meet No. 1 OABCIG in the class 1A state semifinals Saturday. You can hear all of the action live from the UNI-DOME on AM and FM KCII and kciiradio.com, beginning with the pregame show at noon and kickoff at 12:30.
