With the winter sports season about to arrive, youth teams across the state learned on Monday that their season will be on hiatus for awhile.
In a new Public Health Disaster proclamation signed by Governor Kim Reynolds all organized youth and adult sports activities are suspended through December 10th. This was one of many new guidelines the Governor set in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19. High school, college, and professional sports may continue as planned, but attendance is limited to just two per athlete and a mask must be worn. Group fitness classes are also a part of the proclamation that are prohibited at this time.
The high school basketball broadcast season on KCII starts next week with the Washington girls at Eddyville-Blakesburg on Monday and the Mid-Prairie girls host Durant on Tuesday. Listen to the games on AM and FM KCII.
