Beginning Monday portions of Kiwi Avenue and 290th Street will be closed for construction. The Washington County Engineer’s Office announced the work is set to start November 30th, depending on the weather. Crews will be working on Kiwi Avenue from 300th Street to 290th Street and then west on 290th Street to Highway 1. The sections will be closed to thru traffic so the Jones Contractor Corp of West Point can replace existing metal cross road pipe with reinforced concrete pipe.
The roads will then be opened to thru traffic until the paving portion of the project starts in the spring. Traffic is urged to use caution in the area of the road work.
The work is part of a project that is funded in part by a RISE grant that’ll help improve transportation from the highway to Premier 1 Supplies.
