The holidays can be times of joy, but they can also be a tough time for families missing loved ones who have passed away. Hospice of Washington County Director Katrina Altenhofen says they’re here to help, “If you’re feeling, especially during the holidays, we’re bound to have a tendency to remember the ones that are not sharing that holiday with us, and so we do have our grief support services if you just need to have someone to reach out and talk to.”

In addition, Hospice of Washington County volunteers are doing extra outreach during the holiday season to help lift people up. They’re able to provide phone calls for visits or holiday cards for a bright spot during what can be a tough time of year. Hospice of Washington County is a not for profit organization that has been serving Washington County and a broader seven-county region for more than 30 years.
