Another Washington boys’ basketball season is upon us, as the Demons open the winter tonight on the road for a non-conference matchup against Centerville.
The Demons will look to pick up right where they left off from a 14-7 season and their first Southeast Conference championship in 15 years. They will have to replace a deep senior class of six, but do return their top three scorers in Kasen Bailey, Trashaun Willis, and Ethan Patterson. They registered 13.4, 10.1, and 9.3 points per game, respectively. Lucas Kroll and Zac Stout round out the players with significant varsity experience.
The Big Reds were 12-10 last year and finished in the middle of the South Central Conference standings. Brady Kauzlarich is a player to look out for after averaging 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds a night. The Demons dispatched Centerville last year with a 89-51 victory.
The season gets underway at 7:45 p.m. tonight at Lakeview Athletic Complex in Centerville. KCII will make the long haul to broadcast the game on FM 106.1 starting at 7:15 p.m.
