Area kids can enjoy free activities at home while learning about different upcoming holidays and cultures this December.

The Washington Public Library is offering take-and-make bags for three weeks this month, beginning tomorrow with a Hanukkah bag from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Youth Services Librarian Jenisa Harris says she typically makes 50-60 bags to place outside for families to pick on a first come, first served basis, “I have them on a cart in front of the library, you just take one per child. It has lots of fun family activities from crafts to educational to some science experiments. It’s really fun, I’m really excited to have kids and families learn about different traditions and holidays people can celebrate this time of year.”

There will also be Kwanzaa and Las Posadas take-and-make bags offered on December 11th and 18th. You can hear more from Harris during a two-part Halcyon House Washington Page on air today and at kciiradio.com.
