There will be no shortage of matches for the Washington wrestling team tonight, as they make a trip north for the annual Cascade Duals.
Eight teams will be a part of the dual tournament with each team facing off with five schools. The Demons opened the year Tuesday dropping a pair of duals, but went 4-4 in contested matches. Robert Bennett had a solid debut at 160 lbs with a pair of pins. Other winners included Ayden Frazer at 170 lbs and Jacob Hill at 182 lbs.
Head Coach Brent Van Weelden tells KCII Sports this is always a solid tournament. “We like going up there because it has teams we never see. With five duals there that makes seven matches for a lot of our kids in the first week and that is a good number. Great competition is always up there. We are not worried about winning duals with our number of kids being down, but I know we will give a great effort and have a lot of fun.”
All of the action begins at 4:30 p.m. today in Cascade.
