The KCII Big Red Radio is broadcasting live from the Washington Hy-Vee tomorrow, where there are a few hands-free options to donate to the Caring Christmas Food Drive.
To protect the health of others, KCII has introduced a new table topper system at all of its participating Caring Christmas Food Drive sponsors, where you can scan the QR code with your smartphone to give a monetary donation directly to that business’ corresponding local food pantry. General Manager Joe Nichols says Hy-Vee has also modified its system for those who want to purchase a food donation, “We do have some pre bagged things that you can be a part of and purchase through Hy-Vee, although they won’t be pre bagged out there for you to be able to get or touch or see. We do have them set up and they’ll have them at the registers, and so you can just let the person know you want a $5 bag or a $20 bag or whatever it is and they scan it and you can make that donation that way. So that is also a way that we’re kind of going hands free.”
The Big Red Radio will be broadcasting from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. tomorrow from Hy-Vee, where you can also enter to win the $1,000 Caring Christmas giveaway. You can find more information on the 18th annual food drive here.
