It was a strong start to the year for the Sigourney-Keota wrestling team on Thursday, as they swept all four of their duals at home.

The Cobras took care of business against Baxter 34-15, Cardinal 54-12, Montezuma 54-6, and WACO 54-0. Out of 16 contested matches, the Cobras came out on top in 13 of them including recording 12 pins. Evan Dawson won all three of his contested matches at 152 lbs with a 21-10 major decision and pins in 28 seconds and 3:15. Talan Zickefoose at 138 lbs, Jack Clarahan at 170 lbs, Aidan Schuster at 182 lbs, and Cade Streigle at 285 lbs each had two falls. DJ Hammes at 120 lbs and Jacob Moore at 145 lbs rounded out the victorious Cobras.
