A slow start doomed the Sigourney boys’ basketball team on Friday, as they fell in a South Iowa Cedar League matchup 49-38 against English Valleys.
The Savages trailed 10-4 after one and could never claw their way back to even with the six point deficit staying true at half and it growing to 12 after three. They had no answer for 6’3’’ Bear big man Kaden Hall, as the junior made 15 of 22 shots for a game-high 31 points. Levi Crawford led the Savages with nine points, Brock Halleran snagged 11 boards, and Ethan Shifflett created five steals.
Sigourney moves their record to 1-1 and they travel to Iowa Valley tomorrow.
