It was a night full of matches for the Washington wrestling team on Friday, as they traveled to Cascade for an annual dual tournament.
The Demons finished fourth out of eight teams winning two out of five duals. They beat Bellevue 38-17 and Clayton Ridge 36-12, but fell to Cascade 54-21, MFL MarMac 78-6, and Dubuque Wahlert 51-24. Jacob Hill and Ayden Frazer led the team with three contested match wins. Frazer at 170 lbs pinned three opponents in a combined 5:05 while Hill had a pair of falls that totaled 1:51 and an 11-2 major decision. Robert Bennett had two wins on the night with a 7-4 decision victory and a pin in 3:37. Other victorious Demons included Jack Kleese at 113 lbs, Lane Schrock at 120 lbs, and Jacob Miller at 152 lbs.
Washington is now 2-5 and they gear up for a meet at Center Point Urbana tomorrow.
