It was a productive night on Tuesday for the Keota basketball teams, as they welcomed South Iowa Cedar League opponent Tri-County for a doubleheader.

The Eagle girls picked up their first victory of the season with an emphatic 44-27 win. They utilized a 16-4 first quarter to take control and the Trojans never threatened to get back in the game. Taylor Kindred recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Bailey Sieren was also in double figures with 10 points and Macie McDonald had four steals. Tri-County shot just 27% from the floor.

The Keota boys outscored the Trojans 46-10 in the first and third quarters to have little resistance in a 62-20 blowout win. Carson Sprouse knocked down seven of nine shots to finish with a game-high 18 points and Bryce Greiner tallied 11 points with eight boards. Wyatt Sieren chipped in with 10 points and four blocks.

The boys are now 3-0 and the girls improve to 1-2. Both teams hit the road tomorrow to Iowa Valley.
