Residents in the WACO Community School District have the opportunity to be treated to live Christmas carolers this weekend.
WACO Vocal and Band Director Jane Koch says high school music students are taking orders to sing in front of people’s homes within the district this Sunday between 2:00 and 5:30 p.m. as a music booster’s’ fundraising event, “We usually do a fall fundraiser selling evergreen wreaths, but with COVID we put that on hold for this year. So, I thought, let’s go do some Christmas caroling at people’s homes and we can stand outside, our students will wear masks and sing Christmas carols and ring choir chimes to accompany ourselves.”
Koch says they’re asking for a donation of at least $20 for each performance, Orders are still being accepted and can be placed via email (at jane.koch@wacocsd.org) or by contacting WACO High School.
Koch adds the high school’s holiday band concert will not be a live in-person performance because of COVID-19. She says the concert is being recorded this week and should be available for access by parents later next week.
