After learning online since November 23, the Lone Tree School District is back to onsite classrooms.
Last week, the school board voted to return all students to onsite learning starting today and Superintendent Ken Crawford says they hope the move will restore some sense of “normal” for students, teachers and staff heading into the final weeks of 2020, “I don’t think anybody minds doing different educational models for a little bit of time, but I still think everybody believes being onsite helps with the food security, helps with the emotional security of the students, and staff I know is ready to have them back in class. Face-to-face, person-to-person mode of education is still the best mode of education for all kids, whether its a kindergartner or a senior in high school.”
Crawford says while most students are returning to onsite classrooms today, the district will make exceptions for students wishing to remain learning virtually through the end of the third quarter.
