While you’re holiday shopping for loved ones and furry friends, the PAWS & More Animal Shelter in Washington hopes the public will think of those who have yet to fill their stocking.

The pandemic has forced the shelter not to hold their holiday open house, one of their largest annual fundraisers, but Director Amber Talbot says they still welcome donations, “You can stop by the shelter any time and just ring the doorbell and drop off your donated items. Our wish list, the primary goal for this season is canned cat food and canned dog food and cat toys and dog toys of all kinds. Those enrichment items are just so critical for these animals to stay happy and healthy while we care for them and they await their forever home.”

Talbot adds that the nonprofit organization was thrilled to see the support of the community through their recent online holiday auction which doubled in profits from last year. The public can find more information on PAWS & More’s wish list, as well as donating online and through their water bill here.
