The Sigourney boys basketball team suffered their third straight setback in 2020 on Friday, falling to the Belle Plaine Plainsmen on the road, 48-42. Belle Plaine used an early run to take control, holding a 14-2 lead after the first quarter. Sigourney would cut the deficit to single digits at 27-18 going to the half before Belle Plaine stretched things out to 45-29 going to the fourth quarter. The Savages put together a frantic comeback in the final frame, outscoring Belle Plaine 13-3 but ran out of time. Levi Crawford led Sigourney with 20 points. Bo Schmidt added 12. With the loss, the Savages are now 1-3 on the year and will meet Keota in a rivalry game on the road tonight.
