After a few postponements, the first Southeast Conference game of the season is finally here for the Washington basketball teams when they face off with Mount Pleasant tonight.

The Demon girls sit at 0-5 and they will host the 2-4 Panthers. Washington is coming off of a 42-26 loss to Sigourney where Anna Nacos led the team with 16 points. The senior is averaging 9.5 points a night and Alex Murphy has hauled in five rebounds a game. Mount Pleasant lost to Benton on Monday 52-42. Sophomore Andrea Lopreato has been a force with 14.7 points and 11.7 rebounds a contest. These two teams split a pair of meetings a season ago with both games decided by four points or less.

The Demons boys (2-1) will make the trip to Mount Pleasant (2-4) and Washington tries to make it a win streak after a 50-30 win over Oskaloosa on Tuesday. Kasen Bailey is registering 15.3 points a game while Trashaun Willis has the rebounding department taken care of with 7.3 a night. Mount Pleasant’s Brevin Wilson averages 11.2 points and he was big in their 53-33 win over Benton earlier in the week. The Demons swept the regular season meeting between these two schools last winter, but lost to the Panthers in the first round of the playoffs.

Both games gets underway around 7:45 p.m. tonight. Listen to the girls’ game on FM 106.1 KCII starting around 7:15 p.m.
