The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a reduction of the compensation board’s fiscal year 2022 salary recommendations for elected officials Tuesday.

During their regular meeting the Board discussed the compensation board’s recommendation of a 3% increase for all elected officials, and Board Chair Jack Seward, Jr. commented that the Supervisors don’t take this situation lightly, as well as the decision they made last week to approve non-elected county employees receiving a 2% increase next fiscal year. The Supervisors approved unanimously to reduce the 3% recommendation to 2% for all elected officials, and to keep the $150 board chair monthly stipend for Seward. Supervisor Abe Miller also announced during the meeting that he is resigning from the Board effective January 27th, citing personal reasons.
