A Keota man is facing multiple charges after leading authorities on a car chase Tuesday night.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle driven by 39-year-old Joshua Charles Lynam was initially stopped on Highway 22 west of Wellman shortly after 9:30 p.m., but then Lynam sped off, heading westbound. The pursuit would end in Keokuk County along 180th Street about four miles north of Keota.
Lynam was arrested and charged with driving while suspended, failure to obey a stop sign, no proof of insurance, failure to provide a registration card, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Charges are also pending lab results on operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, and felony eluding. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
