Families are invited to ring in 2021 a little early during the “Noon Year’s Eve Celebration” hosted by Louisa County Conservation this Wednesday (Dec. 30).
Naturalist Lana Artz-McComb says festivities will run from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Langwood Education Center, “What we’re going to be doing is having a bunch of stations that people can explore and do activities. They can make crafts, they can go for hikes, they can visit our bird blind. Then right around 11:30/11:45, we gather everybody together around the campfire and we ring in the year. We’re going to have some hot chocolate, we’re going to toss some bird seed up and countdown to noon.”
Artz-McComb says conservation staff will wear masks and they ask kids and parents to do the same when social distancing isn’t possible, but all activities will be outdoors.
Cost is $2 per child which can be paid upon arrival Wednesday. Pre-registration is requested but not required. Click Noon Year’s Eve for details and registration.
