A Winter Storm Watch takes effect Tuesday as three to six inches of snow is predicted for Washington County.

The National Weather Service Quad Cities Office has issued the watch for noon Tuesday until noon Wednesday. Snowfall is expected to begin Tuesday afternoon with a mix of snow, freezing rain, and sleet Tuesday night into Wednesday. Travel is expected to be very difficult to impossible according to the National Weather Service, so motorists should consider postponing travel Tuesday afternoon and night.
