An unattached garage was considered a total loss after a fire that occurred north of Washington Saturday morning.

According to the Washington Fire Department, crews responded at about 3:37 a.m. to a fully engulfed garage at 2245 220th Street. A heat lamp that was inside the structure was believed to have caused the fire, which also consumed a van that was parked nearby. No injuries were reported. Ainsworth Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance, and Alliant Energy all assisted at the scene.
