Riverside emergency crews recently responded to two vehicle wrecks that resulted in injuries.
According to the Washington County Communications Center, 30-year-old Zachary Meierotto of Crawfordsville was driving a vehicle on Highway 218 near 175th Street at about 7:30 a.m. on December 24th when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch and went through a fence.
Meierotto complained of feeling dizzy after hitting his head during the crash and was transported by Washington County Ambulance to Washington County Hospital and Clinics for treatment of his injuries. No charges have been filed in the incident. Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Riverside Fire Department, Riverside QRS, and Moore’s Towing also responded to the scene.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, 55-year-old Dale Louis Axline of Lowden was driving a pickup truck pulling a gooseneck trailer northbound on Highway 218 when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median and southbound lanes of Highway 218, went into the ditch near 150th Street, and landed on its top.
An unidentified passenger in the truck was transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with unknown injuries. No charges have been filed in the incident. Riverside QRS, Riverside Fire and Rescue and Washington County Ambulance also responded to the scene.
