In their first action since December 12th, the WACO basketball teams had a slow start to the second half of the season by losing a pair of games to West Burlington at home.
The Warrior girls dug themselves an early 17-9 deficit after one and 36-11 at the break. That lead continued to steepen for the Falcons (10-0) in the second half en route to a 60-26 final score. Morgan Graber carried a bulk of the offensive load for WACO with 12 points and Grace Coble added five. The Warriors drop to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.
The boys stuck around for a while trailing just 42-36 after three, but an offensive barrage by the Falcons (3-6) in the fourth translated to a 66-54 West Burlington win. Simeon Reichenbach went off in the defeat finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Oswald was also in double figures with 10 points. WACO is now 1-6 on the season and 0-5 in the league.
Both Warrior squads get back on the hardwood tonight at Burlington Notre Dame.
