The Kalona Historical Village is seeking contact information from Kalona area tourism-related businesses.
Managing Director Nancy Roth says she’s collecting emails, phone numbers, hours of operation from business and tourist destinations so her staff can give out accurate information to visitors at the village and museum, especially those coming into Kalona from the east on Highway 22, “They actually see us first before they seen the sign that guides them towards downtown, so people will stop here first because we have our sign out front that says the Kalona Historical Visitor’s Center. So, we’re not just the museum for the town but we’re also trying to guide visitors around. A lot of people stop here first and we give them a lot of information to them about the Kalona area.”
Roth says the contact information she’s collecting is not for public advertising, but rather for Village staff so they can be sure they’re sending tourists to places that are actually open. She says this is very helpful especially when stores change their hours with the change of seasons
