The Louisa County Conservation Board is looking for public input to help develop their next strategic plan.

Executive Director Katie Hammond says they’re conducting a public survey through February 15th, and feedback will provide valuable information for the department’s future, “We manage 18 different areas and they range from one-acres-or-less boat landings to campgrounds to parks with quite a few amenities, to wildlife areas that have essentially no amenities but maybe some mowed trails. We’re trying to get an idea of what direction does the public want us to go in the next five to 10 years so that we can base our ideas and suggestions and grant writing and fundraising off of people’s priorities.”

Hammond says they conducted their last public survey in 2014 and she still references the results in tracking progress of projects they have implemented. She says plans to conduct the current survey were pushed back a year because of COVID-19.

Hammond says the board hopes to have their next strategic plan together for the new fiscal year starting July 1st. Click here to access the survey.
