A recognition of former city clerk Illa Earnest’s 36 years of service, and a Martin Luther King Jr. Day presentation will be held during the Washington City Council’s meeting tonight.

The agenda includes a mayoral proclamation, public hearings on a vacation of the 600 block of the East Tyler cul-de-sac and disposal of a portion of the sanitary sewer easement in south Washington, and affirmation of appointment of mayor pro-tem. The council will also consider a resolution for a grant application for phase two of the business park, engineering agreements for the Bazooka Farmstar sewer relocation and East Adams Street reconstruction, and setting the public hearing date for the property tax levy for fiscal year 2022.

The council meets at 6 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
