A two-vehicle wreck resulted in three injuries Tuesday evening in Washington County.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:03 p.m. dispatch advised of a two-vehicle head-on incident with injuries and the roadway blocked at the intersection Highway 1 and County Road G36 and Highway 92 northwest of Washington. Upon arrival it was determined that a Chevy Trailblazer driven by Madison Briggs of Russell was southbound on Highway 1 when she lost control of the vehicle, crossing the centerline and striking a Chrysler Town & Country driven by Ruth Vest of Keota head on. The Chrysler came to rest in the east ditch and the Chevy came to a rest in the middle of the roadway with both drivers unable to free themselves from their vehicles.

Briggs, Vest, and a passenger of Vest were transported by Washington County Ambulance Service to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
