A non-profit organization that serves a seven-county region is having their 26th annual soup supper and themed basket auction fundraiser next week.

Hospice of Washington County will be holding the event drive-through only, with three homemade soup options, freshly baked bread, and homemade dessert for a freewill donation. Executive Director Katrina Altenhofen says they are still seeking roaster sponsors for $50 at the event, in which donors will be recognized the night of, “This is one of our bigger fundraisers that we do annually. We as staff are a little disappointed that we have to do it as a drive through because it also has provided such a great opportunity for us to be able to connect with some of our different family and community members that we get to see them outside the realm of hospice services and stuff. So we’re going to miss that part of it, but it’ll be nice to see folks coming and driving through so we’re excited.”

The drive-through soup supper will last from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 26th at the Washington United Presbyterian Church. Altenhofen asks that motorists use the south parking lot entrance where volunteers will assist you. Hospice of Washington County will also start their online themed basket auction during the event on their Facebook page.
