Little resistance was given to the Sigourney basketball teams on Tuesday in a South Iowa Cedar League doubleheader when they blew out Tri-County at home.
The Savage girls utilized a 22-4 first quarter to put this to bed early and they never wavered in a 50-17 drubbing. Kaylee Weber doubled up the entire Trojan (0-14) team to finish with a game-high 34 points. The senior connected on 13 of 19 shots and hauled in 13 rebounds.
The boys were up 31-13 at half and also had a relaxing final two quarters en route to a 73-39 final. The Savages held Tri-County (0-13) to shoot just 21% from the floor. The Sigourney girls improve to 12-3 and the boys are now 7-6. Both teams travel to English Valleys tomorrow, but the boys first host Louisa-Muscatine this evening.
