Round two between the Washington and Mount Pleasant basketball teams is tonight with a pair of Southeast Conference matchups.
With four conference games remaining, the Demon boys sit atop of the league with a 5-1 mark and 9-3 overall. Burlington is tied in the loss column with a 3-1 record. The Panthers are 7-6 and 3-3 in conference. Washington won the first clash back on December 18th where they jumped out to an early lead and hung on for a 58-50 victory. The Demons score 62 points a contest to lead the SEC and Ethan Patterson accounts for 15 of them. Mount Pleasant’s Dewon Trent and Brevin Wilson tally 14.7 and 12.2 points per game, respectively.
The Demon girls are 1-12 and look to flip the script against a 7-6 Mount Pleasant squad that utilized a strong second half to win 71-52 in the first meeting. Anna Nacos continues to lead the Washington offense with 10.2 points a game. Mount Pleasant’s Andrea Lopreato is a handful with 16.1 points and 10.7 rebounds a night. The Panthers have won nine of the last 10 meetings in the rivalry.
