The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams travel to Iowa City tonight to meet Regina in a rivalry doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls enter action with an overall record of 8-7 on the year, 8-6 in the River Valley Conference. They were last in action a week ago when they beat Tipton on Senior Night in Wellman 38-33 behind Maddie Nonnenmann’s 13 points and Phelan Hostetler’s 11. On the season, the Hawks are led by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per game. Amara Jones leads Mid-Prairie with four assists and three steals per game.

Iowa City Regina enters play with an overall record of 6-4, they are 6-3 in the RVC. In their last game they were beaten by Solon 70-33 with Annie Gahan scoring 18 points. On the season, the Regals are led by Gahan at 15 points per game. Lily Simpson leads the Regals at six boards per contest. Grace Gaarde has three assists and three steals per outing. These two teams met on December 8th with the Regals winning in Wellman 49-43. Nonnenmann put up 20 for Mid-Prairie and Gahan 17 for Regina.

The Mid-Prairie boys come into the night with an 8-4 record, they are 8-3 in the River Valley. They were beaten at Camanche Friday 66-51. Carter Harmsen scored a team high 14 in the loss. On the season, Harmsen leads the Hawks at 20 points and seven rebounds per game. Jack Pennington has a team best five assists and two steals per night.

Iowa City Regina is 5-6 overall, 5-5 in the River Valley this year. They lost to Solon Saturday 70-26 with Charlie Crigger scoring seven points. For the season, Ashton Cook leads the Regals at 22 points and six rebounds per game. Alec Wick has a team best four assists and two steals per game. These two teams met in December with the Golden Hawks getting a 64-27 win.
