Eldon featured a girl/boy basketball doubleheader on Friday with WACO invading Cardinal High School and walking away with a split.

The Warrior girls managed a season sweep of the Comets with a 51-26 win. They got out to a slow start trailing 14-10 after one, but the defense allowed only 12 points in the final 24 minutes en route to the big victory. Molly McLaughlin led a balanced attack with 12 points and seven rebounds. Ellah Kissell added 11 points and 10 boards while Aubri Garnsey tallied 10 points and six assists. The Warriors improve to 5-9 and the Comets are 4-10. 

After getting blown out by 37 points in their first meeting in December, the Warrior boys showed improvement falling just 43-38 Friday. They trailed 31-17 after three and made a furious 21-12 fourth quarter comeback that came up short. Simeon Reichenbach recorded a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Hunter Hughes added 13 points and eight boards off the bench. The team shot just 24% from the floor. WACO falls to 1-13 and Cardinal is now 7-7.
