The Phase 1B rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations is getting underway today, but many county health departments are still waiting to receive their next supply of the vaccine.
Phase 1B is open to those 65 years and older and other priority groups, with lawmakers and staff at the capitol under tier three, “to ensure continuity of government.” District 78 State Representative Jarad Klein (R) of Keota says he’ll wait his turn, “I will say this, because I’ve had several people ask me if I’ve been vaccinated, which I have not and will not be until the rest of my district is. I’m going to be doing everything I can to stay healthy myself, but I’m not going to step ahead and get ahead of anybody else. I encourage everyone else in the district to get out there and get what they need.”
Klein says he’s been watching the rollout of vaccinations closely and believes the state is trying to do it as quickly as possible.
