A location has been set for the Washington County Board of Supervisors’ wind energy public hearing on February 17th.
After discussion held during Tuesday’s meeting the board approved to hold the hearing at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park at 7 p.m. on that Wednesday. Supervisor Jack Seward Jr. mentioned he was unable to reserve the Washington High School auditorium to accommodate social distancing, and he mentioned that the State Theatre would be available for a $300 rental. Conservation Director Zach Rozmus suggested the conservation center, stating that they could house 100 people spaced properly as the building’s maximum capacity is 300. The hearing will be held for land owners and other residents to learn more about the first of two proposed wind energy ordinances that the board is considering.
