Washington County reached 40 COVID-19 deaths while Iowa passed 5,000 Friday.

The state dashboard shows that Washington County has 2,300 total positive cases with 2,022 recoveries, and a 14 day average positive test rate of 7.7%. Louisa and Jefferson counties also added several deaths since Monday, with their totals at 39 and 31, respectively. Johnson has 65 deaths, Henry has 33, Keokuk has 28, and Iowa has 23. The vaccine dashboard shows that Washington County has initiated 2,052 vaccine series, with 644 that have received their second dose. Statewide, 289,737 total doses have been administered, with 276,337 administered to Iowa residents, and 74,098 that have received their second dose, completing vaccination.
