Several agencies responded to a single ATV wreck Friday afternoon in Brighton.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:01 p.m. Jackie Knerr, Jr. of Brighton was driving a Kawasaki 750 4-wheeler east in the 400 block of West Fountain Street when a mechanical malfunction occurred causing the vehicle to immediately stop, throwing Knerr onto the roadway and causing the ATV to come to rest on its top. Knerr was transported by Washington County Ambulance Service to Washington County Hospital, and the ATV was privately towed. No citations have been issued. Brighton Fire and QRS also assisted at the scene.
