The Sigourney-Keota Cobra wrestling team had a big day in front of the home crowd Saturday at their class 1A sectional meet. SK took the team title with their score of 181 points, beating second place New London’s 165.5 points.
Three Cobras brought home titles on the day. Daniel McLaughlin stood at the top of the podium at 126lbs with his finals win by 9-5 decision over Korbin Camp of Van Buren. Jack Clarahan won the title at 160lbs by 8-5 decision over Connor Golston of Moravia and Cade Molyneux was the champ at 170lbs by fall over Boden Pickle of New London. Reid Molyneux at 132, Aidan Schuster at 182 and Cade Striegle at 195 all move on as runners-up. The individuals advance to the district meet at Pleasantville Saturday while the Cobras will wrestle as a team at regional duals Tuesday night at No. 1 Don Bosco where they will face Dyersville-Beckman in the opening round.
