Senior night festivities will take place in Washington today when the Demon basketball teams welcome Williamsburg for a non-conference doubleheader.

The Demon girls are 2-16 and last fell to a 14-win Clear Creek-Amana team on Saturday by a 44-28 score. Anna Nacos averages 9.9 points a night and the senior will try to jumpstart an offense that hasn’t recorded 50 points in a game since January 4th. Williamsburg is 8-10 and fell to Iowa City Liberty 51-40 over the weekend. Charlotte Wetjen makes 44% of her threes and records 13.9 points a contest. This is the first meeting between these two squads since 2014.

After a tough conference loss to Fort Madison on Friday, the Demon boys turned around and had a solid 64-58 victory over CCA (13-4). Washington is 12-5 and look to flip the script against a Raider squad they have lost to in eight of the past nine seasons. Williamsburg is 9-8 and Levi Weldon leads the way with 10.6 points a game.

The senior night doubleheader gets underway with the girls’ game at 6:15 p.m. in Washington. Listen to the live play-by-play on FM 106.1 KCII.
