Voters in the City of Washington’s third ward can now cast their absentee ballot for the special election on March 2nd.
The two candidates on the ballot to fill the city council seat vacated by Brendan DeLong are Haleigh Brockman and Illa Earnest. The council term ends in 2023. Absentee voting may be done in person at the Washington County Auditor’s Office in the courthouse, and their hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, February 19th and Friday, February 26th. The deadline to cast an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Monday, March 1st.
Voters can also submit a form to receive a mailed absentee ballot. The deadline to submit a mailed absentee ballot request or to preregister for the election is 5 p.m. February 19th. This election will be held in conjunction with those to fill the Board of Supervisors District 3 vacancy and for the Highland School District Physical Plant and Equipment Levy on March 2nd.
