The Lone Tree boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Victor Tuesday for a non-conference tilt with HLV. The Lady Lions came home with a 65-44 win. HLV led 19-11 after the first quarter, but Lone Tree took over from there, outscoring the Warriorettes 54-25 the rest of the night. The Lady Lions had cut the deficit to 25-24 going to the half, before they dropped 25 in the third quarter to take a lead they would not give up the rest of the night. Lone Tree knocked down nine three pointers in the win, pulled down 37 rebounds, had 16 steals and dished out 15 assists. Kasey Chown posted a huge double double of 17 points and 18 rebounds. Allison Marshek scored 15 and Maddie Jacque 13. The Lone Tree girls are now 4-11 on the year.
The Lone Tree boys dropped their game 55-45. The Lions led early, up 12-9 after the first quarter, but HLV got things on track in the second and took a 23-22 lead into half. Things were still tight going to the fourth quarter with the Warriors up three, but HLV was tough down the stretch, winning the final frame 12-5 to take the victory. Cade Patterson led Lone Tree with 15 points, Adam Knock posted 11. The Lions won the glass by 15, but were hurt by 22 turnovers. With the loss, the Lone Tree boys are now 1-16 on the season.
