A South Iowa Cedar League boys’ basketball matchup took place in Sigourney on Tuesday and the Savages had a hard time keeping up with Iowa Valley falling 70-52.
The Tigers wasted no time jumping out to a 23-11 lead after one and they never let the Savages creep closer. Brody Ward had himself a night leading all scorers with 40 points including connecting on 8 of 12 shots from deep.
Iowa Valley improves to 12-7 and Sigourney drops to 8-12 overall with a 6-10 league mark. They close out the regular season tomorrow hosting Melcher-Dallas and then have their first round district game Monday at Lynnville-Sully.
