Charges have been filed for a Washington man in custody at the Clinton County Jail.

According to the Washington County Communications Center, a warrant was issued Wednesday for 37-year-old Billy Edward Stage for violation of probation on original charges of second degree theft and forgery, both class D felonies. Stage faces charges of third degree burglary and third degree theft in Clinton County. A $5,000 cash-only bond was issued for Stage and extradition arrangements will be made. Stage was given a suspended five-year prison sentence to serve three years probation last September for the incidents that occurred on February 13, 2020.
