After dropping a pair of meetings in the regular season, the third time was not a charm for the Keota girls’ basketball team against Iowa Valley on Thursday when the Tigers won a class 1A first round regional 53-16.
It was the Tigers’ night from the start, as they hurried out to a 16-2 lead after one and 26-8 at the break. A 13-5 third salted the game away and led to the 37-point Iowa Valley (13-8) win. Cassity Havens led all scorers with 16 points. The Eagles were paced by Maddison Scott and Bailey Sieren with five points each.
Keota closes the season 2-15 and bid farewell to a pair of seniors in Sieren and Sky Weber.
